How Do You Judge Job Opportunities?
Do you judge a job ad by the way it’s written?
I know I do.
But after reading the above blog post…I may have to reconsider my position. As a freelancer I’ve come across a variety of different job ads. Some ads are professionally written, and the job poster clearly outlines their needs. Then again, there’s a percentage of sloppy job ads, and I usually bypass these without giving the opportunity a second thought. But there’s something I have to remember….
Individuals normally seek a freelance writer because they’re unable to produce their own copy or articulate their thoughts - that’s where I come into the picture. Knowing this, should I really bypass a potential opportunity because the job poster doesn’t know the difference between “their” and “there”, or chooses to start every single sentence with a lowercase?
Thinking back, I wonder how many lucrative and great opportunities I mistakenly passed up all because I couldn’t see pass a grammatical error…..especially since other freelancers are likely to make a similar mistake.
